History

We set up in 1997 at Sapienza University of Rome . Lab P.I. is I. Saggio, associate professor of Genetics and Gene therapy, director of the Master in Life science communication (http://www.mastersgp.it), associate researcher to the Institute of Molecular Biology and Pathology of CNR (http://www.ibpm.cnr.it/).

Activity

Our work focuses on the use and characterization of viral vectors for gene therapy and on studies on human diseases and ageing (see What).

Teaching activity of people from Saggiolab and information for students can be found in the Whoelse section.

Environment

The lab is located in the Sapienza campus, in Rome, in the Dept.t of Biology and Biotechnology. The Campus and the Dept offer an exceptionally rich scientific environment, full access to electronic data bases and to molecular and cellular biology facilities.
