Saggiolab projects


Gene therapy vectors


We deal with different viruses, including AAV, lentivirus, adenovirus and humanized phages. We use viral vectors for gene correction, RNA interference and CrisprCas genome editing and disease modeling. Along with this, we study the properties of these viral vectors for intelligent design of their amelioration.




Telomeres, lamins and compartimentalization


We study macrocomplexes affecting pivotal aspects of human metabolism including DNA replication and intracellular compartimentalization. We analyze their implication in physiology and pathology, in particular in aging and cancer, focusing on both differentiated and stem cells.
